This is excellent news for Firefox users who’ve only stuck around because of the handy extensions available for the Mozilla browser. I myself would have ditched Firefox 2 – a terrible memory sink itself – for the latest Safari 3 build, had it not been for the brilliant Foxmarks and Google Notepad extensions. If the dev team can keep FF3 on a strict resource diet, such temptations will, I’m sure, be sated.
Welcome news from Ars Technica. They claim that the latest Firefox 3 Beta uses less RAM than its competitors, including the super-fast (and elegant) Opera browser.
