But Scott Bourne, over at the This Week in Photography blog, has posted the first in a three-part series looking at buying a new camera.
I would add, and maybe Scott will cover this the forthcoming series, that if you’re going to buy a digital camera for any serious snapping, you need to account for post-production. Do you have a decent image editor such as Photoshop, Pixelmator, or (the open-source) GIMP? And do you have a computer that’ll run these apps? You’ll need at least a gig or RAM, but the more the better (my MacBook Pro is maxed out at 4GB, and I’d kill for double that).
No application or computing power will help if you’re a garbage photographer, but they help and can turn almost-great shots into the real deal.
